[PLOT]


Intr-un orasel din California, un tanar bucatar pe nume Odd Thomas este abordat de fantoma unei tinere fete, care a fost violata si ucisa cu brutalitate. Prin capacitatea sa unica de a-i intelege pe cei morti, acesta este psihic condus la criminalul acesteia, un fost coleg de scoala.

Dupa rezolvarea acestui caz, intr-o zi, la locul de munca, Odd intalneste un individ suspect care este urmarit de o armata de "bodachs", asa-numitele creaturi spirituale, intunecate, care apar numai in timpul unui dezastru, hranindu-se cu suferinta celor raniti sau ucisi. De aici incepe adevaratul joc in care tanarul erou se foloseste de intuitia sa supranaturala pentru a afla ce pune la cale acel individ, fiind ferm convins ca acest om este conectat la o catastrofa teribila care este pe cale sa se intample.
